Amazon - above and beyond Consumer Rights

I realised this weekend that my daughter's Kindle Fire for Kids wasn't holding it's charge. As it was a Christmas present 3 years ago I knew that 1) it was outside the product's 2 year "no matter what you've done to it we'll replace it" warranty 2) to pursue my consumer rights I would need to prove that it's failure was due to an inherent fault. Clicked through a couple of buttons on Amazon and in less than 2 minutes I'm on the phone to a CS rep in America. I explained the problem and the rep said she would put me on hold for a minute as the kindle was out of warranty ..... came back and said that if I ordered and paid for a new one she would then be able to recredit my card. Placed online order whilst on the line, rep confirmed she could see the order and put through the refund. New kindle arriving tomorrow. Amazing, hassle free customer service - giving me beyond anything I was entitled to, or expected. :T:T
