Hi
I have damp looking bricks on the outside of my house.
I had cavity wall insulation installed in 2008.
I can’t see any damp on the inside as the main patch is where the bathroom is.
I contacted CIGA last year but they wouldn’t get involved as we can see no damp inside.
I have tried to include some photos.
Thanks

Have been damp patches only recently occurred?
What type of CWI did you have?0 -
Hi,
I noticed the patches last winter but they weren’t as bad. I reported them to CIGA but they wouldn’t investigate as I didn’t have any damp problems inside the house.
The cavity insulation was pumped in and is a white fluffy stuff. Hope that makes sense.
I had a new roof on about 3 years ago. So I assume water isn’t running down the cavity from the roof.
Thanks0 -
When you get CWI, the outer skin does stay wet for longer, as there is less heat to dry it out from inside.
Normally the wettest parts are where there is a leaking gutter, or any water dripping on to from window cills above or even from the brackets on the wall.0 -
Thanks for the reply.
I can’t see anything obvious but have asked a builder to have a look.0
