25 year endowment matured in July 18

Options
I have not cashed it in as I was told the value was protected. Over the next 3 months it gained £300 in value. Now it's lost £1 k. Do I leave it in or cash it in? Would really appreciate any advice.

If the policy matured in July 2018, then it would no longer be invested.

  • If it is no longer invested why does the value go up be down?

If it is still invested, then it hasn't matured.

I also have a 25 yr endowment with standard life that will mature in May this year.... any ideas what I should do with it.... it doesn't cover the current mortgage I have and it would only pay a small part off the mortgage anyway.... and as the mortgage is a lifetime tracker 1% above br don't think it's worth doing.
    Any advice is welcome.
    Thanks

Molly, your question is not about endowments it's about what to do with an unknown sum of money for someone in unknown financial circumstances.
Post a new question of your own in the investments (not the mortgage) forum and give some detail. At present you've just asked (effectively) "I'll be getting some money in May what should I do with it?"
