Is the peanut free to eat for customer?
Let say I join in with my friends, can my friend eat the peanut there while he/she did not order any food from Five Guys

It will be at their discretion. But usually, it is allowed, within reason I believe. Obviously, they won't have one person buying food while another dozen snaffle free peanuts. They're designed for customers waiting for food to be prepared not as an alternative to buying food.

As per your title, it's free peanut
  • If I am not waiting for the food to be prepared, and I get my food and sit on the table, can I go and take the peanut?

Yes the peanuts are free for customers. They wouldn't be wrong in denying free loaders but it would be at their discretion.

It wouldn't be a problem for a guest to have a few nuts but like everything else abuse would be noticed eventually.

If it's just one peanut I can't see them making much of a fuss.

I was always told never to nibble free peanuts.

It's the free wee and faecal bacteria that come with them that I find off putting...
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

The nuts provided at Five Guys shouldn't be too much of a problem as they don't have bowls of them sitting around for multiple people to dig into.

They have sacks or boxes of roasted nuts in their shells and these are scooped into individual disposable containers for each customer.

A man walks into Five Guys, Orders a burger and sits down to wait.
"Hey, nice tie!" comes out of nowhere. He looks up at the counter to see who was speaking but there was no one there.

"Hey! Nice shirt!" The man looks up but, again, no one there.

"Hey! I like you rsuit!" he hears and eventually the calls the server over and asks him if he keeps talking to him.
"It's not me," he says, "it's the complimentary peanuts."

And then the man heard another voice telling him he looked like a bag of crap and was a exploiting their generosity. When he challenged the server, the response was "It's not me, it's the card machine, it's out of order."
