Several times today, a scam call allegedly from BT stating they have a text message via the landline. They give the options whether or not to listen delete or save. We have done neither so far, for fear of connecting to a high charge.

How should we deal with this. Via google, this is being reported but nothing done as yet. The number is

0845 6021111

Within 3 mins of posting this, they called again, used option 3 to delete

PS, it is 08456021111

Well, I though that was indeed the correct BT number to ring to retrieve a text message which someone has sent to your BT landline.
Every now and then someone does it to me when they mean to text my mobile and instead text the landline by accident
So probably not a scam and just maybe someone wants to get hold of you...but as you've now deleted it you will be none the wiser.....

Any google search will give you the same answer

    Why is this a scam?

It's the number I ring when someone texts my landline.

Or you can dial 1471 after a voice message and 0845 602 1111 will be announced as the last call.
