    Blimey.
    That is truely dire.

I suppose I am different as I have a disability that means I have had regular pyhsio since being small. I have never heard of such a poor initial appointment though.
So well worth going for the private in this case.

I know, and I dont know if its because we are a very rural area - or whether it is true of other places, but most people that I know accept that if you need to see someone like an osteopath or chiropractor you have to pay for it.

Been out on the bikes (hard work) now sitting with a cuppa and starting to feel a bit sleepy. Going into town for a few bits of shopping soon then not sure what else is planned. Need to decide what's for tea.

Now I have had the opposite experience with private v NHS physio...private was useless and bloody expensive. NHS was fab and got me prioritised on the orthopaedic waiting list....10 weeks wait instead of 44!

  • Hi everyone

Just done a proper calculation of finances, which is the first thing, I am not keeping track as carefully as I should. However, its been a funny week and we have had family visiting so this has inevitably caused a bit of extra expense. We have also had a visit to a University with DS2.

The good news is that I have really kept spending to a minimum and I am so pleased with my food spend - £285 against an average of £450 per month for last year. Not been easy, but its clearly possible to make big savings here.

I think what I am learning is that small savings add up, and being really careful with the spending doesn't have to mean sitting at home and doing nothing, so it all feels really positive.
  • Good luck. Will be following, I am looking to clear mortgage and debt in the next 5 years or less.

  • Just home from a night out for a friend's birthday. I took a deep breath and said that I would love to go out but couldn't afford to spend much. My usually spendy friends all agreed that they would love a cheap night so we went to a local pizza place and ordered three big pizzas between 6 of us, so with a couple of drinks I spent £16, then got a lift home.

Glad for a week without birthdays, family visits and such like next week!

I also think a lot of people would prefer to have a cheaper night but don't want to admit it!
