Halifax Save the change

Just trying to save myself a phone call to Halifax. Does anyone know how soon the payments are transferred. I set up the account last week. My first 60p was transferred the day after I spent £4.40. No more change has been transferred since then. Is there a delay? Does it only move on week days? I thought it would happen instantly.

Info here. Looks like it doesn't work on weekends, which seems odd.
  • Is your account overdrawn or in credit. Save the change only works when the account is in credit.

Make a manual payment into competitive savings accounts once you know what you have spent rather than attempt to save money based upon what you have not spent.

The risk in incurring banking charges is made worse by the pathetic savings interest rates on offer.

    Edit:-

The risk in incurring banking interest charges can not be compensated by the pathetic savings interest rates on offer.

Sometimes my save the change saves £9.00 instead of rounding up to the nearest £. Why?

It could be the total amount of the 'change' from different spends, compare it to the transactions shown on the account from the Save the Change payment  to the next Save payment and see if it tallies to the total IYSWIM
