Prepaid credit card advice needed for pre-teens

I was thinking of getting a prepaid credit card for Christmas for my daughter and nephew. They're both age 11. Is it possible to get one for children of this age, would you recommend them and is there an alternative other than giving cash or gift vouchers? I'd like them to be able to spend the money anywhere so vouchers aren't really what I'm looking for, and I like the idea of a card - I think it could be a good introduction to the world of finance. Thanks.

I think there's a charge on them so no I don't think so.

Why not get them to open a NatWest account - they give a Solo card at 11 so they can use it in the shops and you can just pay the money into the account.
