Nationwide Regular Saver (5%)

These regular savers make people think they are getting 5% when in reality £81.25 interest for £3000 is just under 2.7%
You can get around that with a fixed rate 5 year bond by investing the £3000 up front, then getting around £81 interest a year for 5 years.
Seriously why would anyone follow your suggestion?
The sort of point of regular savers is that you dont have the full lump sum initially. You get paid once a month, then lump in part of your pay. That money earns 5% for the time spent in the account.0 -
Yes, I've done 13 payments in Nationwide for the past 3 regular savers. I think it's my Santander regular that now limits you to a max deposit of 12 payments and allows no more.0

We both have regular saving accounts each paying 5% at First Direct, Santander, Nationwide, Marks and Spencer. We drip feed these from our Santander accounts paying 1.5%. I just wish we had more!0
