Parkingeye after 6 months from appeal decision

Hi guys

I got a fine from Parkingeye for staying at Holiday Inn car park back in the summer of 2018, I contested the PCN as I registered my vehicle at hotel reception upon arrival, they claim they had no record of it, so I went through the appeals process of Popla and that was rejected too. However I never heard from parkingeye again until recently, after 6 months of my unsuccessful appeal from Popla, dated 18/07/2018 , I received a notice on 21/01/2019 (letter before county court claim). as I understand they have 6 months to pursue a claim? this has clearly gone over, do I have grounds for another appeal ? worth writing them a letter or should I wait for court papers ?

Kind regards
Ash

It's 6 years not 6 months to start a claim. At the top of this board is another board dedicated to parking tickets.

You are better off posting your questions there but only after you have read the thread that tells Newbies to read it first.

Six months for summary only offences in a Magistrates Court, I'm not sure but as it's civil they're probably chasing a debt so in that case yes.

That's assuming it's England or Wales. In Scotland it's 5 years.

Alright thanks guys, I'll probably just pay it, I don't want to run the risk of it increasing by court fees and I don't have time to attend court etc... It's so frustrating and unfair this whole process.

Why not ask on the parking board for advice before you go rushing in to doing anything?
