An American based colleague has Netflix as I do.
It’s been hinted that we share our accounts so we’d have access to each others regional content if that makes sense.
As we both pay for valid Netflix accounts is it likely to cause problems? ie get banned etc.
Thanks

I think it is a breach of Netflix's terms and conditions so a ban is always a possibility.
That said, i think its the CEO of Netflix who encourages account sharing for situations like the one you suggest so it doesnt seem like an active policy to ban people.0 -
There is talk of closing people's accounts who share them with friends etc in breach of the T&Cs as they are losing money....
I happened to read about it somewhere recently.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear it in 2026.0 -

I’d understand if I shared a password with a non-member but as we’d both have valid and paid for accounts seems a bit counter productive to lose 2 paying customers by banning them.0 -

It does not work that way.
You get the content in whatever region your internet address say you are in (bar banned ones).
If you are in the UK and use a US persons logon you still get the UK content.
If they in the US login as you they still get the US content.
To get around this you need a VPN, however most of those do not work and those that do are not simple to use. And they are meant to be cracking down on it. Which is simple if they see you changing country all the time.
I guess you could swap passwords and use a VPN. Sounds expensive for not much though. But should not be as tracable.0 -
Didn’t know that?
Am currently not in the UK but just logged into my UK account and have got my UK content
Not quite the same but I have a US Amazon address and U.K. one. I can buy Kindle content while physically in the UK from the US Amazon kindle store if logged onto my US account. Wouldn’t Netflix be the same?0 -
Netflix content is based on where you are in the world.
My UK downloaded content was available when I was in Japan last year but the content available to stream was definitely different, some things were missing and some things they had that was not available in the UK.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -
Thanks all... will give it a quick try and see if it’s worth it and take it from there.0

If you join netflix Cyprus for example, then come to the UK, do you get all the UK content, or only the Cyprus content?0

The country you join Netflix in only makes a difference to the price you pay.
The location you are in determines what countries content you get. So if your in the UK you always get UK content no matter what (unless you use a VPN).0
