Polo Stop Start

  • I had a start/stop error happen a few times a while ago, I reported it to the dealer and when they checked the logs they determined it was because the clutch was reporting it was being operated for long periods. Seems I was lightly resting my foot on the pedal during urban driving, enough to trip the sensor but not enough to actually operate the clutch. I made a conscious change to my left foot behaviour and the error has not reoccured.

Have you tried charging the battery as it suggests, or even replacing it?

Not separately but though driving and no luck. Booked it in for diagnostics now so I think they will say it needs replacing.

    Yeah had it from new.

As i said, the stop start error is definitely not related to a condition of operation.

Update... Apparently it is a faulty vacuum sensor on the brake. £200 to fix. Happy days :/
