High Spec.video to FB, difficulty.

Last weekend, our daughter did a tandem skydive and she has been sent the video which has to be viewed in WeTransfer, I have it via VLC. It is in high resolution.

She had wanted to place it on her FB wall but she/husband nor I had any success, so they reported back and they have been sent a lower resolution video and that is available to view on her wall.

I've done some screen grabs via the high spec and they are great. I've been trying to transfer the higher spec vid to my wall or hers, as a surprise but haven't succeeded. From what I've explained, is this something that could be done please. Ask if you think I might have missed something out.

Facebook uploads low-res versions of videos by default. If you want to upload the high-res version, you need to change the settings under your profile (don't remember exactly where).

That being said, my phone records at 4K, but I never managed to upload HD videos to Facebook from the phone (let alone 4K), despite that option was enabled.

Hi, the fact the you seem to know it can be done, maybe someone can add more info to see if we can achieve success.

I know that there is an option, which is under your profile and then either "Preferences" or "Settings", but I also know that, despite having that option enabled, my phone still uploads low-resolution videos.

I post videos on my YouTube channel then put a link on Facebook.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
  • It seems that Facebook is not the best for HQ video upload or rendition some notes here to help

I suggest that Essexexile's method is best but you may then not benefit from Facebook's security (for what it is worth!) unless youtube can have restrictions imposed?

Loading and sharing to cloud drives (Google amd others) allows sharing and some security without quality compromise....if you have sufficient storage allocation!
