Balance Transfer with Egg...

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me..Have noticed that a few posts on MSE have stated they are on a fixed rate for the life of the balance with Egg. I have a large balance (roughly £7000) which I would like to BT to them but have contacted them and been told there are no offers available. How have others many to get these rates? Guessing either threatening to leave or am I not trying hard enough when I call them?!! Many thanks in advance! Jon

IIRC this was offered (5.9 with no fee)once towards the end of 2005 - and again towards the end of 2006 to selected customers. I was offered the latest one but had no use for a life of balance rate. It seems you a) have to be selected and b) they have to be running that offer - both of which are things beyond us mere mortals' control

  • Thanks for that! I have taken them up on their 0% for 5 months offer as part of the anniversary deal but don't really want to shift it again a few months down the line...Oh well lets hope I can get a decent offer in the future!!
