Well who do you think pays for all that? A chartered surveyor does the home report which is paid for by the seller, but with McEwan Fraser "Buyers Premium" it is the buyer having to pay for it all. Photography and schedules are done by both estate agents and solicitors, the cost of which is met by the buyer with McEwan Fraser. I think it would put buyers off.
You're totally missing the point of my post.
You said "McEwen Fraser Legal are just an estate agent I think."
...and I highlighted the acronym ESPC in my reply. ESPC being the Edinburgh equivalent of ASPC. They're a solicitor firm who are members of the ESPC. Subsequently confirmed by David McN.0 -
You are right. I don't see what your point is except you trying to score points. I made a mistake with McEwen Fraser Legal thinking they were estate agents only but this is nothing to do with the whole point of my thread. Try reading my first post again and instead of nit picking, look at the whole picture. As I have already said, call ASPC and ask them why they refuse to allow zoopla and rightmove to work alongside them like other property centres instead of one or the other. Perhaps you would not be missing the point of MY post then. You seem to be homing in on McEwen Fraser Legal just to score points. This is not the point of my original post.0

Here is a local solicitor Aberdein Considine quoting this on their website
"Book a valuation
To book a free, no obligation appraisal of your property, click here.
* Use of rightmove.co.uk / Zoopla.co.uk and onthemarket.com are subject to regional restrictions."
That's a good reason not to use Aberdein Considine if you want to use RM or Zoopla then.0 -
This is turning into more of a discussion that I think it needs to be...maybe there is a restriction, but:
- Buyers already in Aberdeen & shire will look at ASPC first
- Buyers elsewhere in Scotland are likely to be familiar with the SPC set up (i.e ESPC) and look for ASPC
- Buyers elsewhere in the UK may look at RM/Zoopla first, but will probably also google for Aberdeen properties, maybe thinking of local estate agents, and will end up on ASPC
Ultimately I don’t think it’s going to lose you many potential buyers.0
