Egg Card & Loans

Hi All
About 4 years ago I successfully reclaimed PPI back for 3 loans I had had from Egg/Canada Square. These loans were dated around 2001 - 2002.
For reasons I cannot now remember I didn't also claim back the PPI from the Egg Money card I was using at the same time...
So, over Xmas I decided to make the claim. I have now had a letter from Canada Square offering me the Plevin compensation but declining the PPI claim. They state they accept there were flaws in the sales process but do not believe that these affected my decision to have PPI...
My questions are:
Does the fact they accepted the Egg Loan PPI claim not mean they also should have accepted the Egg Money CC PPI claim? My circumstances were identical for both claims as they are for the same time period.
If I go to the Ombudsman, would that jeopardise the Plevin payout?
They haven't asked me to accept/reject their decision, although they do say I can go to the Ombudsman. If they send me the cheque for the Plevin amount and I bank that would it prejudice against my going to the Ombudsman?

Questions:
No, they are different products regardless of whether taken out at the same time
No, you can accept Plevin and if the FOS overrules then you get the refund minus PlevinSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
