No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries February 2019

Hi all,

I used to post on here a few years ago - have a serious problem with hoarding skincare (makeup not so much) - still have heaps of everything, but right now I enjoy using up a lot more than buying new things which I hope will last (but probably comes a bit late!).

I have higher end products still unopened, multiples of each (cleanser - serum - mask - day cream - night cream) opened at any given time, although I have finally started to only open a new product when another one is UU. I don't like throwing anything away unless completely off, repurposing (face cream becomes body cream) helps a bit.

I set myself a goal of UU 50 products this year, am at 13 already but that's mainly because many bottles / tubs were almost-empty end of 2018. I probably don't need to buy a single skincare/bodycare product in 2019 but, at the moment, am very tempted by the Space NK promotion - I have been meaning to try Drunk Elephant but I know it will make me feel bad about all the other, also good brands, I have unopened stuff from....

I used to be the same but now I am just working through all my stuff, I see offers come and go but one thing is for sure there will always be another offer so you aren't missing out.

I have used several Rosehip oils, Trilogy, A'Kin and Fushi most recently. My favourite is A'Kin and I have a back up of this. I find it to be very gentle and healing and have been able to use it even on dermatitis outbreaks on my face.

Hi maddiemay, I’ve ordered the full size TO Rosehip oil. Maybe you should try this brand as it’s cheaper than A’Kin,

Thanks VAL, I have an unopened A'Kin, will definitely consider TO when I need more.

Hi Zuzi, like Dolly84 I am working my way through a very large stash of skin care, and have also registered at last that there will always be another offer and another new product to try in the future.

When I am tempted by skin care, make up, books, CDs or whatever I now add things to a wish list and revisit a few days later, by which time I have talked sense to myself and decided not to buy.

OH and I have arranged another 3 week+ holiday in the Spring and I need to be saving for that so I can buy lots of lovely food when we are away, for me having something else to look forward to helps a lot.

I'm another with a stash to see the year out and I've seen the space nk promotion. However I want to get to the stage when it's a real treat to buy something rather than feeling bad at the many products sitting waiting to be used :eek:

Thanks all, a very good point with spending money on travelling instead of toiletries - to travel more is one of my resolutions for this year...

Also can completely relate to wanting to treat myself rather than making a purchase that will make me feel bad... I have a few things in the Space NK shopping basket at the moment, will sleep on it, and hopefully buy nothing tomorrow, or max the new DE retinol cream.

I just checked my stash and have at least 4 other unopened retinol products, but I have heard great things about this one, and it's just over 60GBP so it is a good offer. That would be my only IN for upcoming weeks if not months...

I have already used the "15 off 60" offer, a few years ago, I bought Sunday Riley Tidal cream and HATED IT, haha, ended up using it as body cream so really regretted that purchase!
