Subcontractors VAT

I run a Manned Guarding company where I supply Security Guards on hourly basis to Pubs etc. I’m sometimes falling short of guards as demand is higher than supply - so I found another security company who will supply guards on my behalf and issue me a VAT invoice.

My question is - is this company allowed to charge me VAT for providing me guards on regular basis? My company is VAT registered so its not an issue but just want to make sure that I can reclaim this VAT I will pay to subcontracting company.

as your sub-contractor is VAT registered then yes of course they must charge you VAT

and yes of course you can claim that VAT on their invoice as part of your input tax claim, just the same as you do with anything else you buy where there is VAT charged on it

why do you think it would not be so?
VAT is indeed complex, but your question suggests you have some big gaps in your understanding?
