Finding out who owns strip of land

There are a row of 6 houses built in 1940's that were council houses which were later sold off to housing association, all but one are now in private ownership.
They back on to open farmland, but between back gardens and field is a strip about 20ft wide
I believe council originally retained ownerships when properties were built for maintenance purposes.
Is there any way of finding out who this strip belongs to now?
Land registry has info on the 6 properties but nothing about the strip of land, any clues how to find out?
Farmer has always just ploughed up to his boundary, the strip between there and houses is just left.

Try doing a map enquiry on LR, if nothing then it's unregistered and you will have to do your own digging asking locally0

If you suspect it's council-owned, often it's straightforward just to ask their estates department to check - they tend to have their own mapping of their land interests whether or not they're registered.0

Thanks,
would ownership of council houses queries be made to district council or county council?0 -
Sign up to Nimbus Maps, its free.
You can then see an aerial view of all the registered title boundaries. You will be able to see this strip of land, its title number and maybe (if it is not in private ownership) who owns it.
That's a lot more that you get free from the Land Reg.
