Electric frying pan or halogen oven?

I was thinking of buy8ng an electric fry8ng pan, then heard about halogen ovens.
Which is best for (a) versatility and (b) saving money by obviating use of an electric oven for cooking small quantities of food (I’m a singleton), so e.g, today I used the oven to bake a single fillet of salmon. Admittedly it’s a small oven but I still thought it very wasteful of electricity.

I had an electric frying pan, ok for some foods but not as versatile as an oven .
I bought a Remoska which you can cook anthing in you can do in an oven and stingy on elecricity.
I found on Gumtree as they can be pricey but hardly use the oven now.0 -
I thought about a remoska but they cost nearly £150, whereas a halogen oven is about £50 and an electric frying pan is even cheaper.0

I've got a combi microwave which is great , and a halogen oven. I don't use the conventional oven half as much as I used to.0

Couldn’t imagine being without our Remoska.
We have a Halogen cooker but the Remoska is King.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
I have one of those hot air fryers. Have only used for potatoe based things so far but it reckons you can use it to cook meat and fish. Ours is only small so would suit a single person. I got it for £27 before Christmas from Amazon when on offer but currently £43
Tower T17026 Compact Air Fryer with 30 Minute Timer, 1000 W, 1.6 Litre, Black
If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!0 -
I use a remoska too. I had a halogen oven for the caravan but could not get on with it at all, so sold it. The Remoska is king. I have the smaller one, it was expensive but pays for itself in saved electricity. I have never used either of the ovens on my cooker. I also have a combi micro which I use a lot. Between them and the hot plate on the cooker I can do all I want to. You might get a second hand remoska.0

I have the smaller remoska it was £99 from Lakeland. If you buy one from Lakeland they will honour the pan for 10 years. My first two Remoska developed problems after about 4 years thand they changed it no problem. There are sites on the internet where you can get them a bit cheaper. But the lakeland guarantee is worth the extra.
I have a combi microwave as well. I have never used the two ovens on my cooker since I bought it. There are two of us, with the hot plate we manage very well.
Some years ago I managed for over 2 years without a full cooker using a two plate electric hob, the Remoska and the Microwave.
We had a halogen oven for the caravan, I could not get on with it, so sold it and used the remoska.0 -
Lakeland now only give a 3 year guarantee on their products. Not been 10 years for a long time now.0

I love my halogen and wouldn't be without it. I would strongly recommend the extra large with extender ring. Mine is the fixed hinge lid from Andrew James.
Don't bother with small ones as they limit the size and quantity of what you can cook. With a big one you can roast a while chicken or cook in tiers to make something-and-roasties/chips/jacket potato, all in one go. Very easy and economical.
My widowed friend has a large one like mine, and she uses it regularly. Her single neighbour has a small one and regrets it as he cannot prepare the variety or quantity of meals that my friend can.0
