12v socket

Had my car written off in a nfa, bought another car recently, nothing exciting, but ive noticed it does not come with a cigarette lighter socket included. The car is a fiat panda active eco 1.1 Is it easy enough to get one installed, and any idea what i might be charged for labour. I really need the use of my satnav, and i want to get my dashcam in asap. Thankfully i had my dashcam in my other car at the time of the accident,that showed i was not at fault and the other policy holder admitted liability after 48 hrs.

Yeah, you can get a kit off eBay that includes a replacement bit of trim that just snaps into place. It's fairly easy to do as a DIY thing.

If you're going to pay to have the 12v socket installed would it be worth having the dashcam hardwired instead?

I have dropped my car off today at the garage i use for repairs,mot ect, they are going to try to install a 12v socket today. Dont know yet what the cost is going to be, but its something i feel i need. The garage is usually very reasonable on charges, so hoping it wont be too expensive. I will find out in the next hr or so.

All good. Satnav and dashcam working great. Parts and labour, £60 in total, but worth every penny
