Ok , Ive been swayed by the "standard" rate from Marcus and am going through the screens now to open the account0
-
Actually , Just got to a section on the form about withdrawing that sounds like if I want my money on a non business day im stuck -
"To take money out of your Marcus account, you’ll need to log into your account or call us. When you ask us to do this, we’ll do it straight away, so you won’t be able to change your mind. Your money should usually be in your linked account immediately. It will be there at the latest by the end of the following business day.
If you ask us to send your money after 3.30pm or on a day that is not a business day, we may not start making your payment until the following business day."
Compared to Tesco -
"You can make withdrawals and transfer money from your online savings account at any time - useful for unexpected expenses or last-minute getaways.
For security, there's a maximum daily withdrawal limit of £10,000 to non-Tesco Bank accounts in the UK, and £100,000 to other Tesco Bank accounts in your own name.
Don't worry if you need to withdraw more, just give us a call and we'll be happy to help. After all, it's your money.
Daily withdrawal limits may change from time to time, but we'll let you know if this happens."0 -
Hovering over the button to complete signing up with Marcus ! Just unsure because of the business day transfers thing0

Ok , Took the plunge and went for the Marcus one.
Thanks guys !0 -
My Tesco Internet Saver will be coming to an end shortly and they've given me 750 clubcard points as a thank you. Not sure if this is standard procedure but might be worth bearing in mind.
sadly it isn't. I've had several Tesco internet savers over the years, have 2 current accounts and regularly shop there. I've never been given clubcard points as a 'thank you' (apart from the usual ones)0 -

Faster Payments guarantee is actually by end of next business day, though most arrive immediately or within a few minutes.
You'll just have to plan ahead a bit;)0 -
Kent Reliance have a postal/branch/online easy access saver, 1.40%, which doesn't drop after 12 months.0

Too late for the OP, but another benefit of Tesco is that you can have multiple payees set up. With Marcus and PO I believe you're limited to just one (although you can change it at a later date).
The difference between 1.50% and 1.42% is 80p/£1K/annum. Might be a price worth paying for some people?0 -

I guess , that's something I noticed but if I needed to pay in from any other account I would just transfer it to my registered one first..0
