New boiler - broken down 3 times 2 days

Any idea what me consumer rights are?

Fitted two days ago by BG. PAcked up three times now. Two visits by clueless engineers.

-4 outside and I've got small kids. Do I have any rights to reject the boiler and get it replaced by someone competent? Or am I know stuck waiting for BG to get their act together?

I don't have knowledge of consumer law to help you main question but have had experience with new boiler not working.
In our case we used a reputable local company but however they still blamed everything else bar the bolier. Our existing pump (which we then replaced) and our existing pipe work. After a couple of months (several visits trying various things) they got it working to a reasonable standard. We still didn't believe it was working 100% but it was liveable with. Years later we had another problem with the system and they sent out their "expert" who sorted it out quickly and as he chatted away he said "You should never have been sold this model, it has an inherent problem!".
Obviously I know think I should have been firmer at the time of the original installation but I was dealing with a difficult personal situation at the time so it wasn't easy.

Price aside (and despite this it was cheaper with the discount) I, at least thought they'd know what they were doing.

The advice of mse posters on using BG to get a boiler fitted is pretty clear!

(Can't your mate who works there and got you his discount pull some strings and get you sorted?)
  • Glad to say its sorted now (thanks to my mate pulling some strings).

    Never again with BG though...
