I do, today, yes. Not that fussed about what happened 10 years ago. I trust that you no longer have any dealings with uk banks after 2008 seeing as history matters to you so much?
If I was sat here reading posts describing a bank doing something they shouldn't (which they had also been fined for previously) then yes that would trouble me, particularly if I had dealings with that bank currently. It would show me that despite the fines they hadn't learnt their lesson and I would avoid dealing with them.
I suspect the FCA would take into account their behaviour from 10 years ago if they felt compelled to look into current matters further.0 -
Same thing happened to me today ! My insurance is due to start on the 2nd of June but they have said they have to cancel it on the date it starts! And that I cant get my £20 back either and couldn't tell me whether I had to declare that I had my insurance cancelled before. Customer service is awful ! Now stuck in what to do nextbibek said:Update: Just got off the phone with Hastings Direct, apparently their underwriters do not give them a reason hence they haven't provided us with one. Good news though, lady from "New Business Review Team" said that we do not need to disclose this policy being cancelled for my wife as it had not even started. Cancellation/Void apparently only applies once the policy has started.
Have recorded the operators name/department/date/time of call for my records.
Oh, also managed to get £20 refunded without much effort.
Still think they've cancelled it as they sold the policy for cheap though..0
