It's pretty obvious the issue is going to come back as water ingress now, so the op better have that proof.

It's no coincidence the rain matter has came up.
Speculative and assuming, unless you have the power to time travel.
  • So you didn't wrap the TV up for it to be collected?
Your wife didn't say "Oh, I thought you may have brought some packing materials, hold on let me get something to wrap the TV in as it's raining outside."

    no!

I asked the first time i rang and they said the couriers would dismantle and take the TV .. i do not need to do anything.
I do not keep spare packaging or protective cloths at home to give away ..
Do not see your point here to be honest!
  • I would drop the water issue as currently there is no issues with tv as reported by currys from that.

I would push the issue that it was damaged in transit upon its return from the first fix.
This TV will not have any OEM parts available to replace a broken screen, keep this mind.
like they say there was no issue from the first inspection, so water is moot point now really, it came back broke, it went back to them broke and if it is the screen, remain broke as there is no parts from OEM supplier (they have to use OEM parts).

So calm down let this play out and depending on your contract and terms and conditions of your 5 year warranty you maybe offered a replacement as it was their fault they broke it.

I agree .. i will just wait and see what they come back with now

it came back broke from them ..
The water is a side issue but still an issue ..

    thanks

Worrying if you don't see the point.
So why did your wife not query them not packaging up the TV before they took it outside into the rain?
You must have something they could have put over the TV for them to get it to the van and they retrieve it.

You seem to just be pushing this to get a refund.

    Bingo!

And there we have it, the standard response when someone gets an opinion they don't want to hear.

But you don't know that there has been any water ingress. Currys are going to repair the tv, so what's the problem?

Suggesting that forum members are employees of the company you're complaining about is a sure-fire way of ensuring that you won't get any further help. So congratulations on shooting yourself in the foot :T
  • Sorry but just annoyed that i am being accused of not covering the TV my self

I am asking for help on the matter of a potential water damage .. If my TV develops a fault later on down the line .. that is water ingress related then i am in a little bit of a pickle ain't i?

Which is why i am asking what to do in this situation?

I was not home to cover the TV .. Currys picked the TV up .. so they should come with adequate packaging to ensure the TV gets back to the repair center in a safe manner. Which they failed to do when bringing it to me .. as it developed the other fault whilst being bought back to me.
