I picked up a car on friday and on the way home i got caught slighty over speed limit, I was on M1 and doing about 55mph (it was a 50 limit). No excuses, just lapse of concentration and there was no queueing traffic, the road was quite empty. My question is how will they send my ticket to me as although the retailler would have updated details this would take a time. I dont even know the part of M1 the camera flashed but I know it definitely did. I am worried that the notice wont arrive in time and authorities think I am avoiding it. I have been driving for 32 yrs and this is the first one ever. My partner was driving behind me and I think he got a ticket too.

You must have been doing a bit more than 55 in a 50 for the camera to flash - 57 would be the threshold. Are you sure it was you and not some adjacent car?
You won't know for a while. IF the car was caught, the police will send the first NIP to the keeper registered with the DVLA on the day, which would probably be the dealer or previous owner (depending if it was a private sale). They should then nominate you as the driver, and eventually you'll get your own NIP.
Does the previous owner have your correct address?
And has the previous owner completed and sent off the V5C, making you the keeper?
Anyway, this isn't the best place for such enquiries. Best popping over to Pepipoo's Speeding forum for further advice.0
