How long will 3 late payments affect me getting things like car finance etc?

Basically been travelling Australia, finished my job and have a santander graduate account. Part of the t&c is that I must put a regular income in the account. I didn’t realise this as I had a student account before where it was only £500 each term. The account automatically converted to a graduate account last year. I ensured there was enough money in the account and regularly checked online banking for any messages (I assumed that they would message me in online banking if they were removing my overdraft). Anyway long story short, been hit with 3 late payments, how much of an impact is this going to have on getting credit and when roughly can I start applying for credit?
My credit rating is showing as good as I have now paid the overdraft but still it shows a negative mark on my file.
