Have you thought of offering the tree to a 'professional' on the basis of you remove it & tidy up & you can have the wood ??

Just a thought after looking at that pic. You need to be careful with fallen trees where there is still tension in the roots. They can actually stand up again once you start reducing the weight by cutting bits off.0

I use a chap who works with trees for a living. His strength and stamina was the unseen difference until he asked me to lend a hand to avoid the cost for bringing in a bit of help on his last job.
Your project will test you physically so get a quote from someone that can do the job as a starting point.
