Cheap 4* or 5* Hotels in New York for April 2008

Hi, we will be going to New York in April for 5 nights without the children and would like to get the best price for a good 4* or 5* hotel. We will travel on the 22nd of April 2008.

Can anyone recommend any good hotels and also for a great price. As the dollar is so good at the moment, would prefer the price to be in US$.

There is a 'sticky' at the top of this thread with EVERYTHING you could possibly want to know about New York, including hotels.

A 4 or 5 star is expensive, perhaps you have a budget that will cater for it, but if you are free of your kids, will you really be spending a lot of time in your hotel when you have the whole of Manhattan to play in ??

I am sure people would be happy to comment on a few choices if you narrow it down to a few, but check out the sticky thread to get a few pointers
