Help... am I being realistic?

Just a quick update.
I was successful in my offer, although on the morning of the closing date I upped the offer to £205,050, out of paranoia I guess that I would lose the property over a small amount. In the end this transpired to be a good call, as other offers had been made for £205,000, meaning there was only £50 in it!
The offer document has been sent to my solicitor and contacts have been exchanged.
The move in date is now 05/04/2019.
The question I would now like to ask is, I have now spent more savings than I originally intended to on the deposit, meaning I will probably not have the required funds to buy a bed/sofa/other white goods straight away. Is it ok therefore in between exchange/completion to use credit cards / loans to get these items delivered that weekend, or am I best waiting until it's went through and then doing it, and moving in at the start of the following week?
Thanks x
Absolutely NOT. There is a very small but possible chance your mortgage offer will be revoked. Wait until your first mortgage payment has gone out. You'll survive.0 -
Freecycle is great, there is often a lot of good stuff on the Glasgow one, but for bigger things you will need transport. Does anyone in your family or among your friends have a large car, or car+ trailer?
Recently there have been fridges, freezers, washing machines and dishwashers available, plus plenty of furniture. If your parents have space, start collecting stuff now. It can be good for several years, but certainly fine to start with, then when you can get new stuff you just put it back on Freecycle.
Gumtree is good for free stuff too.
You could get a "man with van" to transport stuff, but that can work out expensive.
If you need a removal company, I suggest "Flat 2 Flat", their prices are very reasonable.
They seem to be located somewhere in Anniesland as I have seen one of their vans sitting there, on Anniesland Road, but they may have changed name in the last while. The phone number will still be the same I would think.
Do not rush to move in, once you see the place empty you may well want to do some painting, even shampoo the carpets etc, all much easier without furniture in the way!0 -
Flat2Flat now go under the name of The Home Removals Company.0
