Amber/Turning Red Traffic Light

Went through an amber turning to red set of traffic lights on a toucan crossing. Fairly positive I noticed a flash from the camera as I had gone through the lights. I went past again today and noticed the yellow camera is after the set of traffic lights. I would've thought the camera would have to be before the lights so they can show photographic evidence of your car crossing with the red light showing?

    1) I'd be highly surprised if a Toucan crossing had a red light camera, those are usually reserved for traffic lights at junctions.

    2) They don't flash, sounds like it is a speed camera just after the crossing, what speed were you going at?

Are you asking for help or just recounting a driving experience?

If it's the former, a private parking forum isn't the best place to seek it (a bit like going to the dentist to have a broken leg repaired :D). You need to go over to our friends on PePiPoo to get expert advice in this particular case. Here's a link for you:

You will need to register with an email address, but please note (for whatever reason) a hotmail address won't work. Suggest you create a throwaway Gmail account just to deal with your case.

    Good luck.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; show him how to catch fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Thanks, I've sent you a message with the google street view of the set of lights and camera!

    And around 20mph

Haha reading it back it does sound like I'm just recounting a driving experience! I was seeking help though, just to see if anyone knew if red traffic light cameras are usually before or after the set of traffic lights.

    Thanks for the advice though

    Got it, here goes.

The yellow camera by the flats/masonnettes is a speed camera and the grey one is a traffic monitoring camera. Both are facing away from the crossing as well.

Cheers buddy! Think I found it on the Transport for Greater Manchester website, they have a list of the cameras and it says speed camera like you said
