Did you have to prove to the council you had health conditions to gain the additional money for respite services? such as a letter or doctors letter/verbal say?
No, why would i need to do that. My daughters Social Worker already knows about my health conditions.

well from experience if your not diagnosed with a health condition and the doctor confirming it or a letter, the way the authorities see it as if you do not have a condition at all while you may have one. Just like when applying for benefits or claiming income protection insurance they want evidence.

When applying for benefits if you have a health condition then no diagnosis, is needed.

It's only the doctor or a medical professional can state you have a health condition, which is effectively a diagnosis.

You can label yourself with any health condition, but will the authorities actually believe it in this day and age. I used to have depression and anxiety and I was treated and spoken to like nothing was wrong with me until i showed them letters from NHS and a top medical professional letter about my condition they really understood then. I didn't have to explain anything else.
