Nothing gets transferred - it's the same account with different benefits and fees.

Hi All, I upgraded my select 123 to a lite 123, I phoned and all went well, I received a new red debit card which I was told to use when I received the new PIN number. After a week a new pin hasn’t arrived. Has anyone transferred from select to a lite account and received a new PIN number or does the old Pin work?

I still haven’t received my new Pin number, popping out today to do a shop, I will check to see if the old pin works.

    Update
I tried my old PIN number using a ATM and it worked, no more waiting for my hard working postman to deliver my new PIN number.

I finally got this done. Nobody else at Santander agreed that I would have to change sort code & account number. Took a while but sorted now. Thanks all for the replies to my earlier post.

Well, 2 weeks after downgrading to Lite, I've now got a nice email from Santander welcoming me to 123 World, and trying to cross sell various products.

Never mind that I've had a 123 Account pretty much since its inception, guess they can't tell the difference between an upgrade and a downgrade, and who cares anyway when there's a chance to sell more product under the guise of an obviously essential, non marketing email!

Changed as well all accounts now lite. Very quick. Left enough in each to cover DD.

Now only have to spend a little time to use the switch service to get the 2 individuals accounts into the joint.

I downgraded my 123 Select to a 123 Lite account, all went well. Yesterday I had to write a cheque out (I only do this about once a year) and saw all the cheques had select written on them, the sort code and account number are the same as my Lite account. I asked Santander if it was okay to use them and they said yes. I did believe it would be, but phoned to be on the safe side.
i only put this on the forum for info and a way to safe a few trees.
