PPI Rejected by Lloyds Bank and Ombudsman

I thought I would mention my earful experience with Lloyds Vank and the FCA Ombudsman.

I thought I would inform the forum about Lloyds vank and the FCA Ombudsman.

Basically just like thousands of others my wife and I were mid-sold PPI by Lloyds Bank.

We complained to the vank but the said we were not entitled to any refund since they said “ Lloyds has said your complaint was made too late – as it was outside the time limits set by the financial services regulator“

From 2005 to 2018 = 13 years.

Ombudsman said “From the information we’ve seen, your Select AVA was sold in October 2005 your
Silver AVA was sold in April 2010. Both of these accounts were sold – more than six years before you first made your complaint in August 2018. I also think you should reasonably have known you had a reason to complain more than three years before you did – so unfortunately your complaint falls outside the three-year time limit as well.”

Sadly we never thought of claiming PPI since we learned about the mid-selling by banks etc from Martin Lewis on TV.
We did have exceptional circumstances but no one is bothered at all.
we lost a son to cancer in July 2000.
From 1998 to date my wife and I looked after our son until he died.

From July 2000 to date my wife and I are recorded by our doctors and receive medication for mental illness.
These two extreme situations has stopped us from thinking about or realising we were duped by Lloyds Bank as thousands of others.
The week my son was diagnosed I was made redundant too.

We have been with Lloyds Bank for 44 years, this is how they treat their customers by conning them to change accounts that will benefit them and not the customer since they cannot make any realistic claims.
And because they don’t ask your medical background at all you are not covered.
Thanks for reading. X

The timebars appear to have been correctly applied.

It should be noted that PBAs are not considered a bad product and most PBA complaints are now timebarred. The uphold rate at the FOS is only around 14%.

As dunstonh says above the time bars appear to have been correctly applied.

You should also be aware that you didn't have PPI, added value accounts like Lloyds Silver, Gold and Platinum accounts do not provide PPI, the provided benefits are typically Mobile Phone Insurance, Car Breakdown Cover and Travel Insurance. Only the latter would be possibly impinged upon by pre existing medical conditions.

Packaged bank accounts are not PPI.
