MBNA - Ombudsman overruled decision

Good evening all,
I recently lodged a complaint against MBNA credit card for mis-sold PPI.
MBNA rejected my complaint, but did say ‘there was an unfair relationship between us’ and refunded the additional commission that they received.
I took the case to the Ombudsman and they have ruled that MBNA did in fact mis-sell me the PPI.
What now happens - do MBNA now automatically have to repay my premiums (with interest) or can they appeal?
If they can appeal does this cost them money? I assume if so then they may (hopefully!) just repay the premiums?
Anyone had experience of this - particularly with MBNA?
Thanks in advance guys (and girls!)

They do have the right of appeal to an ombudsman if they feel there is a mistake in the decision (not common with PPI)If they can appeal does this cost them money? The initial deadline is 2 weeks and would be detailed in the copy of the uphold letter that you should have received. If the firm would usually respond to accept or appeal (giving their reasons for the appeal) - if the firm do not respond by the initial deadline a chaser will be sent with s further 2 week deadline and if no response is received after that FOS will proceed to pass the case to an Ombudsman to make a final decision which would be legally biding upon the firm.
Please note it is very rare for it to get to this stage and usually only relates to smaller firms.0 -
Thank you. I will keep you updated!0

Have heard today that MBNA have admitted that I was mis sold PPI, so I have won my claim via the Ombudsman!
They have said it may take up to 6 weeks to hear from them.0 -
I very much doubt that they admitted it was mis-sold... they have however much more likely decided not to appeal the adjudicator’s decision (usually with no liability of fault)0
