Universal Credit (SSP) Help Required With Rent - What Next

So I've registered via the website but all details in. Couldn't do online I.D. verification.

I'm in work but on long term sick receiving SSP , I need to call and book in an appointment for I.D. (their systems down at the minute though surprise surprise) . At what point do they ask for payslips, proof of rent and such?

I've been off since Xmas but only got my first deducted pay/payslip today.

Thanks.

At the ID evidence interview, take 3 forms of ID (1 should be passport, driving licence or bank card/statement showing your sort code account number etc) if you are private renting take your tenancy agreement and something else that links you to the property such as utility bill, fit/sick note but you need to report this in your account first

There's some advice and checklists here https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/universal-credit/claiming/prepare-for-your-interview/

Make sure they understand sickness is likely to be long term rather than temporary, if that is the case, so that they start the Work Capability Assessment procedure.

    Thanks.

Why would I need to go through the Work Capability Assessment if I have a job?

Because if you are found to have Limited Capability for Work and Work Related Activity you get paid extra money from the fourth month.

Only relevant if your illness is long term but depending on what your health problem is you may not know how long you are likely to be off work.
