Royal Mint Shēngxiào Coins

Hi,

We are looking to buy another genuine Royal Mint Shēngxiào Collection coin to give to our next child (due in a few months) for their Christening. I know they are more novelty than investment which is why I don't want to pay much. The last one for my son cost around £20 (in a royal mint branded blister pack) but the cheapest I can find for chinese year 2019 is a limited circulation at £85 (then 10% discount via TopCashBack) and there seem to be only knockoff copies on ebay.

Any ideas where I could get a genuine, ideally in a royal mint blister pack again, one cheaper?

Thanks but similar to a lot of the ones on ebay it seems to have a textured (rather than polished) face, the text is different and it is supplied in a (probably unbranded) plastic capsule? Are you sure they are reputable and it would be genuine?

Atkinsons are fine, as are Chards who have the same coin and also in a protective capsule. I think the difference (and certainly the price) is that the one at the Royal Mint is proof and the £20 jobbies are uncirculated.

I have also used Chards in the past with no issues at all but they charge postage at about £9 for insured Royal Mail SD whereas the Atkinson price always includes insured SD.

Thanks ColdIron yes maybe they are now making their uncirculated ones more unattractive. It's a shame they don't have a picture of these on their website to confirm. I get the feeling that I am going to end up buying the nicer proof one (more similar to the my son's uncirculated one) as just about everyhting else this child is getting will be 'hand me downs' from our son so it would be good if they had something nice.

So is the Royal Mint via TopCashBack the cheapest way to buy the proof one?
