:)This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning
Bit chilly today as evidenced by my trip to bin at 5. Back to early rising again today.
Busy work day planned today I have a long to do list to crack through and lots of invoicing.
Honey and garlic chicken just has to be tried it was heaven. Some left over so that will be dinner for me with some chips maybe or in a wrap. will defo make that again and so easy
Ill pop back later when my eyes have opened

Morning, cold here too Nelski but at least not raining.
I am fed up with untidy humans. I may or may not tidy away other people's stray belongings and I have a few jobs to do, the rest of the week will be quite busy.
Wishing everyone as good a day as possible.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning All
-4 out, just been to defrost the car, I'll go swimming in a minute, hopefully my hands will have thawed by then.
Yesterday was cold, bright and breezy, I got 4 loads of washing nearly dried on the line including the bedding, everything just needed 10 mins airing, it was lovely to get into bed last night!
Housework all up to date, just ready for another busy week.
Nothing of importance to report, missing you tru!
Take care. XX0 -
Morning folks and thanks NELSKI. Minus 1 here but dry so that's a bonus!
Another fitful night for me but nowt new there is there. One day ....
Another day of hibernating I think. I may or may not tackle a few jobs. Food will involve leftover gammon. In a sandwich with hm celery soup at lunchtime and sliced at teatime with cauli cheese and a few warmed up l/o baby pots and veg.. The stock is in the fridge waiting to be used to make a pan of pea and ham soup to freeze in portions.
The chicken sounded different NELSKI. Which of your favourite chefs have we to thank and is the recipe on line?
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, sad, worried or lonely and thinking of TAFF, HOLLY, POPPY and MR SNOOZER. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning everyone
Nelski - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still pitch black here, wind still blustery but has died down quite a bit, air feels cool so temperature has dropped - no frost but we're forecast possible snow/sleet tomorrow and Weds, we'll see.
DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work and DS2 still in his pit, will wake him shortly, there's LO yorkshire batter in the fridge, so he may want some pancakes for brekkie.
Lunch yesterday was roast lamb, roasties, mash, cauli/broc cheese, carrots, green beans, swede (me), peas, yorkshires and gravy. Tonight will be fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg.
We were very chilled yesterday, by 11am the lamb was roasting, all veg was prepped and ready to cook, pack ups had been prepped and were in the fridge, all I had to do was cook the veg and serve, eat and enjoy!
Spent some time on here and looking through some recipes, just for something else to cook.
Keep safe and well x

Its a Simon Rimmer recipe TA I think. I wrote it down cos it looked so easy and it was
4 skinless, boneless chicken thighs
120ml soy sauce
120ml ketchup
80ml honey
3 cloves garlic mushed up
Put chicken thighs in the SC
Whisk soy sauce, ketchup, honey and garlic together in a bowl; pour over the chicken.
Cook on low for 6 hours.
Finish sauce on the hob to thicken

Morning everyone,
Hope you all enjoyed a lovely weekend.
Friday - My NSD went out the window when everyone from work decided to go to the markets nearby for lunch. A really nice quiche for a fiver. Worked late that night, didn't leave till closer to 8 but I got lots done and the boss noticed it too. That wasn't why I done it but it's nice to get the recognition.
Saturday - A day for eating frogs. Went to yoga, got a hair cut, went to the post office to collect my 2 x pair of specks for £15, went to John Lewis to use a voucher I had, got my weekly shopping in, ran for 4 miles, put 2 sets of washing on, phoned Vodafone to sort my bill, phoned E-on to arrange a smart meter, phoned an old colleague, all before chilling in front of the TV.
Sunday - Early start I was playing football. Facetimed my brother in South Korea before going. We got gubbed 7-2 but it was a good run around. Went for a drink with some of the boys after the game (which ruined my NSD). Home to make my soup for the week and dinner that night, before joining my mates on the Xbox for an hour.
And breathe.
No gym this morning, but I'll go after work and I've got a yoga class booked for 7.30 again. Omelette with bacon for dinner when I get in.
Nelski - That does sound delish!0 -
Gosh Specky, you make me feel tired just reading that.
By contrast I seem to have got a stomach bug so yesterday was spent very quietly. I'm still feeling fairly pants so no yoga today, it will take me all my time to walk Ziggy.0
