there is a huge variety of work out here from, stewards who clean the accomodation, admin, mechanics, roughnecks loads, does he have any skills? They're is a huge recruitment drive on just now. look at www.opito.net for an idea or oilcareers.com and see if any of his skills match up, or if he can train in anything. But be warned 15 days seems nothing, but it drags on the 2nd week, it feels much longer when your only scenery is sea and the gulls and their little deposits everywhere.Debt @ LBM April 2005 £27500

The isolation aspect doesn't bother me, although I think I'd struggle to find a role - I'm not an engineer or anything engineering related.
I can cook though
You think you've got problems, what on earth could I do? I'd rather have a stab at engineering structures or whatever they do than cook :A

Hey Toto, who says you can't get a job?!The oil field is composed of people like yourself, people who are looking for the same things in life you are: job security, an interesting career, an opportunity to better themselves.
They come from all walks of life: farmers, lawyers, preachers, musicians, bankers, businessmen, labourers, university graduates, medical personnel, time-served military personnel, male and female alike. You will find one of every kind in the oil field.
