Absolutely no idea! It's never been the same since I did the free upgrade to Windows 10, had to revert back and been issues ever since.

I appreciate all the comments but whilst I'm good with something's I'm not interested in fixing what I have, prefer to buy new. Budget of about £500.

Took a peek at Chromebooks they seem to be ok, the only software I need to put on would be Microsoft Office.

You can't ... you might be able to install Office-type apps from the Play store though. (Chromebooks run a variant of the Android OS).

I didn't know that. I do use Microsoft office from Google Play on my phone!

For basic tasks, chromebook is good enough. It is pretty chep and has a simple interface.
