I doubt it - I think all Sony's take MemorySticks. The are more expensive than other types. Have a look at the card in your camera - I guess it will say MemoryStick on it...in which case it is not SD.

Wouldn't let me order one because of "not enough data fraud information" or something or another. Plus they wouldn't send two at the same time because of "stock inventory considerations". What a pain. Got 2 off ebuyer.

The MyMemory price, even on eBay, is for the standard speed card, not the high speed card. Having both types of card, the high speed is definitely better

Is the speed difference really that high? For compact flash I barely noticed the difference. But maybe on SD is different?

For less than £2 more for the fast card I didn't think it wasn't worth worrying about - went for the fast card. For a start It should be a lot quicker copying files to my PC. I also don't seem to be able to play videos stored on my camera with my standard speed card on my PC screen - I wonder if it's because the card can't keep up. I have a camera that can take photos in rapid succession (e.g. under different exposures) so I know that a fast card can keep up. Finally - these cards can be used in other things apart from cameras where speed of the card could be important.

For one off photos the standard card will be fine.

Not all cameras take advantage of the high speed cards.

Even my last camera which was only 18 months old and a £300+ model did not support faster cards, which was a shame, that was an HP945.
My current setup of a Kodak DX7440 (released 10 months ago) also doesn't support the extra speed but my Panasonic FZ20 does.

This is not to say the faster cards don't work in the Kodak they just don't work any faster! Probably worth the extra though as someone already mentioned they do work faster for transferring files on your PC.

It would probably be best to check with your cameras manufacturer, although it would be fair to say that possibly any sub £100 camera is not going to notice any difference, due to the high speeds not being taken advantage of.
