Outdoor lighting wattage

I want to replace a couple of outdoor PIR Halogen floodlights, they still work, but have corroded badly. All the new ones seem to be led, and are rated in Lumens. What Lumen size should I buy that would give the same brightness as the halogen ones. There not on all the time, just a short burst of about 2 mins if there activated, it just keeps her indoors happy, she’s obsessed with security. Thanks

Look at this - http://img1.wfrcdn.com/docresources/8261/7/73854.pdf
a 30watt LED floodlight gives out about the same number of lumens as a150watt halogen floodlight.
I put up two 10watt LED floodlights to replace my 300w halogen and they give more than enough light to illuminate my 25m driveway.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

Generally, a 20W LED spotlight will give a similar output to a decent halogen outdoor spot.
I have a 10W LED PIR spotlight in the garage and it's more than bright enough for that purpose.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. As you say depends what Wattage your current PIR halogen bulbs are:
- 500W = Approx 8500 lm
- 250W = Approx 4500 lm
Might be because halogens do seem to dim a bit with age? Or maybe its the colour of the light that makes the difference0 -
Maybe because the LEDs are more concentrated whereas the halogens just literally flood in all directions.0
