Vitality Life Insurance

Does anyone have this? I'm looking for feedback or opinions on it and how it goes...

The changing annual premiums concern me, I prefer knowing what costs will be going forward. They aren't the cheapest by any means, and the older I get the higher costs are likely to be if I change

I try to avoid it. I much prefer guaranteed premiums.

Vitality is a nice idea but there are going to be plenty of people with "best intentions" who do not follow through with their aims who then get caught out with higher premiums.

Im not a massive fan of them personally. It all seems a little gimmicky providing you with free watches and things...

If you want guaranteed premiums, probably best looking at an insurer who offers them.

Generally the staff at VitalityLife can't explain their plans in a clear and succinct manner, us advisers have little chance!

They can be the best option in certain specific circumstances, however, there's a myriad of different options and depending on which option you have will depend on how the premiums change. The premium can go down if you gain enough points each year OR if your medical examination is tip-top.

Unfortunately, I think they've made what should be a fairly simple product far too complex by adding option after option after option. I tend to avoid recommending them wherever possible, unfortunately.
  • i've had vitality life for almost 8 years. brought it when i first purchased a house in my 20s. i pay a fixed amount every year and secured it for 30 years i think with a fixed payout. not decreasing with age or mortgage.. i'm not interested in the perks/gimmicks they have to offer. long as they protect me and my family in the event something happens. the question is how much is that worth. whatever you choose explore the next level of cover because sometimes its only few pounds etc a month and provides better peace of mind.

I used to really like Vitality. I think if you can get your head round it they offer brilliant cover. Unfortunately I think you do have to be the right sort of person for it. I do go to the gym but not an expensive Nuffield or Virgin Active so don't get points there, i'll only shop at Aldi and not Ocado plus i'd prefer to have cheap activity tracker than a fancy apple watch.

After a year I ended up changing to a provider with lower guaranteed premiums and less gimmicky perks.
