Ticket from CPM and letters from Gladstone Solicitors

So I've been reading various other threads and only become really confused!
I got a ticket from CPM at my flat in the underground parking there.
I've had various letters from DRP, which I've ignored. Now I have received a letter from Gladstone Solicitors.
From Various reading, I've seen that DRP are known for sending out letters as Gladstone Solicitors to scare people into paying?
Do I keep leaving it or should I do something? And what should I wait for next?

Have you read this?
http://parking-prankster.blogspot.com/2016/11/residential-parking.html
A lot more information please.
Are you a tenant or a leaseholder? Are you sure that the letter from Gladys is a begging letter? Who does it tell you to pay, how many days does it give you to pay, does it contain forms on income?
What does your lease/AST say about needing a permit to park? It usually has primacy of contract over a scammers T&C.
The whole industry is a scam, relying on threats of court, and the public's ignorance of the Law, A bill is currently before parliament which will regulate the scammers, many of whom are ex-clampers.
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors. Is has been suggested by an MP that some of these companies may have connections to organised crime.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, (especially Smart}, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week), hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers.
Sir Greg Knight's Private Members Bill to curb the excesses, and perhaps close down, some of these companies passed its Second Reading in the Lords this month, and, with a fair wind, will l become Law later this year..
All three readings are available to watch on the internet, (some 6-7 hours), and published in Hansard. MPs have an extremely low opinion of the industry. Many are complaining that they are becoming overwhelmed by complaints from members of the public. Add to their burden, complain in the most robust terms about the scammers. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Thank you for your quick response. I will read that article now.
I am a tenant in the flats, not sure what the tenancy agreement says about it. The letter from Gladstone tells me to contact DRP to pay within 14 days. Nothing to do with income has been mentioned. I'll try to post a picture of it a bit later.0 -
It is a debt collector' letter, and can be ignored.
However, a real claim is likely to follow shortly and should not be ignored.. You will then need to find your AST, they take people to court by the thousand. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

That's from DRP, not Gladstones. So you can ignore it.
But you need to be ready to defend a court case as UKCPM are currently the most litigious PPC in the country and there's a good chance that you will get a LBC and MCOL Claim (acronyms in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #5) in due course - don't ignore those, come back on this thread if you do.
Meantime do early preparation by spending a bit of time reading the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #2 which covers all aspects of defending a PPCs spurious claim against.
Fail to prepare, prepare to fail! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
