County court laim form

Hi all,
I think I have followed the instructions correctly to get to this point....
I have received today a County Court Claim Form for a PCN from 2015(!) from Britannia Parking on behalf on BW LEGAL.
BW LEGAL started sending letters and emails a few months ago, but I have moved address so didn't get them until recently (and chose to ignore them as they had no details about any parking fine- just wanting me to contact them and they seemed dodgy, so I didn't) and emails were going to junk.
So naturally a County Court letter has come as a big surprise considering the incident in question happened 4 years ago.
Could you please advise what I need to do next? I've had a read through but not entirely clear how/what to build my defence.
Thank you in advance.

Now you need to be reading post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread.
What is the Issue Date on your Claim Form?
Did the Claim Form come from the County Court Business Centre in Northampton, or from somewhere else?0 -

its the other way round, namely
I have received today a County Court Claim Form for a PCN from 2015(!) using BW LEGAL on behalf on Britannia Parking
so CCBC claim from the claimant on behalf of their clientPCNFIGHTER wrote: »So naturally a County Court letter has come as a big surprise considering the incident in question happened 4 years ago.
why ? BRIT had 6 years to being a court claim, so 4 years or more is quite common0 -
The whole industry is a scam, relying on threats of court, and the public's ignorance of the Law, A bill is currently before parliament which will regulate the scammers, many of whom are ex-clampers.
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors. Is has been suggested by an MP that some of these companies may have connections to organised crime.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, (especially Smart}, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week), hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers.
Sir Greg Knight's Private Members Bill to curb the excesses, and perhaps close down, some of these companies passed its Second Reading in the Lords this month, and, with a fair wind, will l become Law later this year..
All three readings are available to watch on the internet, (some 6-7 hours), and published in Hansard. MPs have an extremely low opinion of the industry. Many are complaining that they are becoming overwhelmed by complaints from members of the public. Add to their burden, complain in the most robust terms about the scammers. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

IMPORTANT:-
BWLegal has no doubt added a fake £60 to their claim.
You must advise the court that BWLegal are attempting double recovery
BWLEGAL ADD ON A FAKE £60 ?
In addition to the 'parking charge', the Claimant's legal representatives, BWLegal, have artificially inflated the value of the Claim by adding costs of £60 which has not actually been incurred by the Claimant, and which are artificially invented figures in an attempt to circumvent the Small Claims costs rules using double recovery. >>>> thanks to bargepole
