Thanks it would be good to try them out, I supose the 30 day trail at home offer might be worth a punt, I could return them and then next time I'm in the USA pick up a pair, and a Canon lens already on my US shopping list. Both these items are way cheaper outside the UK ;(
The Lens 70-200 image stablised is around £2000 in the UK $1500 USD and no sales tax in states like Delaware. Thanks for the tips!Seth.0 -

just check out the reviews of them. mine have been thrown, bashed, crushed and had drinks spilled over them and they're still going strong after 3 years
I'm not a huge Bose fan, and am keen on Sennheiser (I have a few of their cheaper ones, way better than the money I've wasted on Sony headphones over the years!) Sennheiser seem to have models for each use, the £20 one on the Grabbit board seem good for compact but durable travel. The set you mension must be very good as one of the reviewer said they had to recode their MP3 at a higher bit rate, a sure sign of good speakers / or headphones.
I have to agree with some of the reviewer about setting aside 40% or more of your total budget on AMP Speakers and headphones.
The Sennheisers you recommend seem to have no noise reduction circuits just good enclosures around the capsule drivers. Again this is a massive plus point for me from both a cost, simplicity, and design point of view: Less signal processing = Better quality sound, however good the Bose NT circuits they will effect the sound. Sennheiser Capsules cost £49 per to replace but yours seem to have lasted, and it is reassuring to know you can get the spares.
Are the Sennheisers any cheaper in Germany? I work in Frankfurt sometimes so it would is easy to pick up a pair from Germany. I only ask as Sennheiser sounds German, and some items are cheaper in Germany and the USA. I know 7Dayshop the discount web retailer buys lots of stock from Germany, sells it on to me in the UK and it is STILL way cheaper than the high street in the UK: There is a Fuji 35mm film I use, £8 a roll in Boots, £16 from 7dayshop for a pack of 10! Even with shipping the cost saving is massive. Even the Lidl DVD players in Germany are cheaper than the ones in the UK, they also have better spec (eg Germany had Hard Disk PVR with DivX DVD playback last year).Seth.0 -

Does anyone know what the Bose outlet is like I live in central London (W4) so Portsmouth is a bit far. Thanks for the tip though if I'm ever around they might pop in. Perhaps this is where all the Ebayers are getting them from?
The Geographic number is 0239 2855800 according to SayNoTo0870 will call tomorrow and see what they can offer by post or in store.Seth.0
