Book holiday in pounds or euros?

Virtually identical walking holidays in a European country are offered by several companies. Some require a booking payment in GB pounds, some in Euros. Which should we go with?

  • The cheapest one for you obviously.
Does the UK one have ABTA protection - what protection does the Euro one have should anything go wrong?

Check the current mid-market rate on xe.com for price comparison. To pay in euros use one of the fee free 'travel' cards that you will be taking with you, no doubt...
    Evolution, not revolution
  • Are you paying a deposit today, or the full amount? So is the question related to possible future currency movements, and would you therefore be better locking in your price in GBP, or taking a gamble on what will happen with GBPEUR? If you don't like the gamble, go for the GBP priced holiday (as they themselves will have hedged against currency movements). Don't forget to think about what you will do re spending money - buy today or nearer the time (including just using fee free cards as you go).
