Roman blinds with pull string not sidewinder headrail

I need to replace the roman blinds in my living room bay window. It's rectangular so has one large window and two smaller ones.
The online made to measure blind shops all seem to supply roman blinds with a chain mechanism to raise and lower the blinds rather than a string you pull and loop around something to secure.
My old blinds use string which looks better. The string from the larger blind covering the main window runs along the top of the smaller blind above the side window before dropping down. I think this looks better than having three chains hanging from the blinds.
Has anyone found anywhere that still offers this as an option?
Thanks

We have made lots of Roman blinds, the common kits now all have the chain mechanism. However we have also done DIY ones for which we use the cords like you describe.
Have a go at DIY blinds with the cords or go to a local curtain maker if you want the cord type.

for instructions on making the corded ones, not hard and very rewarding.0 -
Thanks for your reply. The instructions don't look too complicated.
I've contacted a couple of local curtain making companies who look like they can do what I want.0 -

I need to start a new thread re: too many wires for my light fitting!!0 -
matt_j just had a thought about safety. Many blind companies will not supply the corded ones due to the danger to young children accidentally strangling themselves.
