taff, I hope you feel better soon. I hope Holly and Poppy are ok too.

Steve's blood results were fine so he didn't have to have any treatment yesterday. We came home and walked Ziggy and then he insisted on vacuuming the living room and hall, despite my protests - he just wanted to prove he could. Then of course he felt ill and had to sleep, stubborn man, he doesn't really argue but if he's determined to do something he won't be stopped.

Chris and Crystal are coming over later and we'll get a takeaway from the local chinese restaurant. They miss it since they moved away because it really is a good one, although we don't go often.

OH going shopping today and the house is clean just needs a quick tidy round.

Taff please take it easy and rest, Peaky blinders is a fab series :T as is Vikings if you need something else to watch.

    Good morning all,

We slept late as the HT was very tired last night and a bit sore. He thinks he may have overdone things in the school gym and with his hypermobile joints his pain lasts a bit longer than usual. I've given him paracetamol this morning as well as his usual painkiller last night so hopefully that will help.

I've just tidied the spare room and you can see a bit of the bed again. I have my wool stash on the bed and my knitting needle bag. I'm determined that some of it has to be used before I buy anything else. The trauma teddies are a good way to use it and I'm half way through a cardi for the baby great nephew due in May.

Taff I hope your pain eases soon. Sending a cyber hug which is just as well because I think a real one would hurt too much?

Snoozer I'm glad Steve's bloods were OK. Tiredness has been the thing that my friend has mentioned the most during her chemo treatment.

Take care all of you :)

    Hi everyone,
Definitely warmer out,had to open my coat while out dogwalking earlier.Means we dont need to have the burner going quite as early.DS2 has taken DGS to football training & will bring him back here and he'll stay over. Not sure about DGD yet,her hospital procedure went ok (eventually!) but she might just fancy a quiet day with Mummy.
DH has gone to the job to sort out a couple of bits and the task of removing all the tools and equipment as the job is now finished. Its been great as it lasted nearly 11 months and the client was great at paying every month :T - great when you're self employed and more used to wondering if you'll get paid before the bills come in! They do want some work doing outside but will leave it until its a bit warmer, have a bit of a break from builders too :) I think we'll have a takeaway tonight as we'll all be in.
Not sure it's worth tidying when DGC are coming, might just hoover (TA I got a g tech just before Xmas - I love it,it's so light and easy :D )Enjoy your games night.
Csarina hope the box works this time!
Taff- hope your pains ease off quickly.
Might just go and wash my hair before anyone comes back,I look like I've been dragged through a hedge after dogwalking :o
Enjoy your day whatever you're up to xx

Morning everyone - just been reading back and having a catch up. I haven't been well this week with a chest infection and horrible cold! Its really annoying as I was supposed to go visit my little grand daughter today but obviously I can't go with germs!
She is doing really well she was moved to a closer hospital on Monday and is now in special care rather than intensive care. Unfortunately this hospital doesn't have accommodation for parents, but DD can get free transport at lunchtime every day and stays all day until her boyfriend picks her up after work at about 10pm. It's not ideal but hopefully will only be for a few weeks. Baby now weighs 2lb 13oz ( she was 2lb 2oz) and is 3 weeks old now. She has little tubes in her nose for oxygen and is on hourly feeds now rather than continuous feeding.
As I can't visit, I'm going to go down to DDs house this afternoon to re-sort the baby clothes. Just before she went into hospital we had put all the newborn clothes into the drawers and wardrobe. Of course, they're all going to be too big when she comes home...so DD wants them swopped for the tiny things we've bought.
Exciting news from eldest DD too - she has a new job in Sweden and is moving in a few weeks time. It's her first designing job and she will be designing boys clothes. She is very excited! And I get a new holiday destination...
Hope everyone has a good day
  • ROSYRED Love mine too! I've had it about 3 years now. I got it on the recommendation of GERS!

    Hello lovelies
Not a very nice day here, it's wet and windy and we seem to have a yellow warning for wind ......... ooo-er must leave those beans alone :rotfl:
I am juggling hats today because Mr Fix it has another cold. I wish he and Dad would stop being the new chuckle brothers with the cold "to me -- to you ". I will have to ring Dad later as he may not want to come over for lunch tomorrow, in case he gets it again. He is still coughing after the last lot :(
This morning I stripped the bed and washed the bedding, plus another load. Emptied the DW, refilled it and put that on. I also cleaned the halogen oven as Mr Fix It cooked smoked bacon in it for his breakfast.
Mr Fix It was going to make a big quantity of his curry base but he wasn't up to it, well not on his own, so guess who was roped in as sous chef :rotfl:. I was chopping the onions, garlic, ginger etc all the smelly stuff while he peeled some carrots . Anyway it's now bubbling away. I have taken some chicken out of the freezer and we will have chicken curry and rice for tea.
After lunch I shall remake the bed and then put my feet up, then nurse, cook, go-for and all round " good egg " nanny will be unavailable :p
Hope everyone has a good Saturday
    Take care all
    nan xx

Afternoon folks -made it home through heavy rain. The falling rain isn't a problem, it's the standing water which is lethal.

The torrents of water pouring off the hills of the Rest were astounding. Just as well that there's a huge amount of work being done to stop it all hitting the road. BEAR (which manages the trunk roads in Scotland) are excavating huge pits to channel the rain and have erected large industrial chain netting to catch the boulders. Definitely saw some benefit today.

Taff - hope your problams fade soon. Can't be easy!

    TA - you're welcome!

Snoozer - it's just a pride thing with some men.

Csarina - I've just ordered two new remote controls for my Humax machines. The upstairs one got flooded when I spilt my glass of water and the downstairs one is just old. At least the machines themselves are OK. I find that they tend to fail after a while, even with not much use.

I'm off to unpack. It's too late for me to light the woodburner so I'll faff around for a while and then sit back in my chair with my electric throw on. My right knee and hip are so very sore, I'll rub some anti-inflammatory gel on them and take a couple of paracetamol too.

    All's well.
  • Box arrived just after 9.30am, a bit of a kerfuffle setting it up, very different to the old box, much smaller for a start Also one of the connectors for the satellite came adrift, I had to look on U Tube to find our how to replace it. All connected now and its working, I have recorded a programme and checked its there. So OH is happy. Different from how our old box connected with the TV but thats life.

I guess he is going to be trigger happy for the next few days.

Supper all ready to cook. I have 3 pairs of trousers to turn up for my neighbour, not my favourite job, but hopefully will get them done tomorrow.
