Paying jd williams account with an aqua card

Options
Hello, I'm sorry if this is this is in the wrong place but I've spent 20 mins trying to figure out where to post this message so here goes.

I have a 0% 6 month purchase aqua card and would like to know if using that to pay my jd williams balance will be counted as a purchase or a cash transaction, I've looked around on here and the best way of paying calalogs with credit cards seems to be unclear. Apparently with very you can use a purchase card and a cash transaction card, does anyone know if I could use my purchase card with jd williams and get the 6 months interest free? I can't find any information on here, jd williams site or in my credit cards t&c's so clarification would be appreciated.

Please only answer if you know the answer to the question as there's a lot of confusion around the issue already.

not the best way to start a thread on a first, im my opinion

i DONT know the definitive answer, but here is a bit of free advice:

call AQUA and ask them directly if it is a cash or purchase transaction - job done

I use Jacamo and that’s run by JD Williams payments on credit cards are counted as purchases. JD Williams interest rates can be horrendous it’s definitely out a good idea to run a balance they can be as much as 60%.

Get a money transfer card and get the cash into your bank to pay off the account, it's unlikely to be classed as a purchase if you're paying off an account

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

  • I appreciate the reply, I didn't mean it to sound rude it's just other threads have a lot of confusion and differing opinions. I simply wanted to have the answer answered in a clear and concise way for myself and anyone else who may happen across this post looking for the same answer.

Not correct, Littlewoods, Very, Jacamo, Look Again and Next all count as purchases when paying by credit card. However CurrysPCW classed as a cash transaction.

So would jd williams be counted the same as very, Jacamo etc?

    I would assume so :)

You could pay a small amount and see how the transaction appears on your statement if your concerned. How much do you owe?
  • Not a great deal it would be cleared within 4 months anyway, just wanted to avoid the interest lol

I said "unlikely" not that it wouldn't be. So no, not incorrect.
